    1. This new world is confusing and hard to understand. This world’s confusion contains words being arranged as if you were a dyslestic.

    2. The butterfly symbolizes peace & tranquility. Also the butterfly represents color because of its many colors on its wings.

I think that the idea of Travis shooting himself is true. When Eckels killed the butterfly, it changed up the future and then Travis would have to pay a lot of money. I think that the new world changed since the butterfly could’ve kept them from learning about beauty and color.

    1. I think that the new world is the same but alot simpler. The people havent really developed a way of life yet. Everyone is jut there.

    2. The butterfly symbolizes beauty and peace. This changed the world because without beauty everything is dull and without peace then the other guy would win the election.

    3. I think that everything, in the end becomes very plain and simple and if someone had to die it would be Eckles. I think he would die because he is the one that changed the world so it would only be fair.

    4. The author doesn’t say flat out what happens because he wants you to use your amagonation.

    1. I think that the butterfly was important becuase it represented tranquility and color. After Eckles stomped on the butterfly and went back to present, day you saw the dullness of color because that butterfly died. This might have led to a series of events that caused maybe some one not to see the butterfly or even butterflies not to exisit because that one butterfly died.

    2. I still think that Travis shot Eckles. My reason to come to this this conclusion is that maybe Travis was angry or furious that Eckles did what he did and now has to deal with the results like the rest of the world. If Travis shot himself it would mostly be because he felt going on to deal with the mistakes that Eckles cause were to much and unable to be changed.

    3. I think Ray Bradbury did not explictly say what happend at the end because he wanted to know what the reader thought.( Wanted to know reader’s ending)

Based on the chart, I think the new world has a different way of spelling English words. (p.223)

Ray Bradbury did not say exactly what happens at the end of the story so readers can form all sorts of endings of their own.

It is a possibility that Eckles was not shot at all. Travis could have shot his weapon in the direction of Eckles just to scare the daylights out of him!

    1. I think that this new world, having developed differently, is both different but similar to the old one. It has the same people, with their same names, but how they talk, and think is different. There minds are duller, and more simplistic. Here are some exaples to back up this theory:
Pg. 223) The sign was spelled how you would think it would be spelled, exactly how it sounds.
Pg. 222) The atoms and atmospere had different colors and chemicals, that were duller, and smelled less alive.
Pg. 223) There simpistic and less creative minds, were prone to the desire
of a dictator (and would control them), who according to Pg. 212, was a militarist, anti-christ, anti-human, and anti-intellectual, like the man at the desk after the time trip.

    2. The butterfly, like the people before me said, symbolized, peace, beauty, color, and tranquility, all of which was taken away from the world, after the death of the butterfly, the only living thing that represented thos aspects back then.

    3. I think the auther left the ending for the readers amagination also, and i personally support the suicidal shot, because he new that the death of the butterfly had ruined the world.

Another way to look at this sitiation, is that Eckles was supposed to go back in time and change how the world was, maybe it was all part of God’s master plan for the world. It may be a punishment, that god wanted to seperate heaven from the world…… Please comment

    1. I think that the new world after the butterfly stop is much different because the english language was different (words spelled as they are spoken), the air smelled like chemicals, and all of the colors are now dull and darker than they were.

    2. A butterfly could symbolize color because of all of the colors on its wings. This could cange the world because the death of the butterfly could effect the way color looks (Hue, Brightness, darkness, shade, etc.)

    3. I think that at the end of the story, Mr. Travis pulls a gun on Eckels and is going to kill him. If someone dies at the end, I think it will be Eckels because Mr. Travis earlier in the book was furious at Eckels for stepping on the grass after he told him not to and when he saw what Eckels did to the fututre, he got so mad at him that he kills him.

    4. Ray Bradbury doesn’t explain what happens because he wants you to use your immagination and think about it and see if you can figure out on your own what is going.
